A longboard session for me yesterday. Here’s a video shot on what seems day 2 of the contest at Honolua that has just been posted.
As usual, Jimmie Hepp was shooting Hookipa, here’s a shot from this gallery.
4am significant buoy readings
0.7ft @ 18s from 219° (SW)
1.5ft @ 14s from 193° (SSW)
Lanai still feels 1.5ft from the old swell while Barbers feels 0.7ft 18s from a new one. Yesterday it was knee to waist high, but after watching Ala Moana briefly I’m going to guess only knee high today.
5.2ft @ 12s from 326° (NW)
6ft @ 13s from 322° (NW)
4.7ft @ 13s from 323° (NW)
4.6ft @ 9s from 67° (ENE)
Possible beach report from there coming up before 7am.
Wind map at noon.
North Pacific has a couple of small westerly fetches and the now weaker easterly windswell fetch. Overall a sub-average day of waves generation for the period, but things will change dramatically in the next few days, as a captured nearby fetch will generate a monster swell that is now predicted to reach 20f 15s on Sunday night.
