A pretty uneventful day for me yesterday as I woke up too late to enjoy some fun SUP foiling conditions in the morning.

The waves at Hookipa at sunset looked kinda fun, but I wasn’t inspired to surf them.

3am significant buoy readings
South shore

W
2.2ft @ 14s from 157° (SSE)

SW
2ft @ 14s from 164° (SSE)

There is southerly energy (probably angular spreading) at a couple of outer buoys. South shore should have waves in the waist high range.

North shore
N
8.5ft @ 11s from 35° (NE)

Pauwela
5.8ft @ 10s from 12° (NNE)

The NNE energy coming from the fetch of October 6/7 is here. Today it might be all about SUP foiling for me.

Wind map at noon shows light onshores everywhere.

No fetches today in the North Pacific, so I circled the lovely area of no wind that surrounds us. Better enjoy, because we’re about to get slammed by some really strong and long lasting trades in a week or so.

That is reflected by the windguru table. Gonna try to work on my foil pumping skill and try some downwinders to finally enjoy these conditions. Gotta build those quads.

South Pacific still shows a strong fetch aimed at Central America from which we should get some angular spreading.

Morning sky shows some moisture moving in from the south.
