STRAIGHT ARROW: Mountain climbing in 2001 –

In 2000, the Boy Scouts completed the 13.7-mile Millennium Trail at Bernheim Forest in Bullitt County, and Bonnie and I incorporated it into our training as we started getting ready to go back to Colorado to continue our quest to climb all 56 of the 14,000-foot mountains there.

On the Millennium Trail you hike up to a ridgeline, along the ridgetop for a while and then descend into a holler, then up another knob and continue the process seven times, taking between five and seven hours. It makes for a really good workout.
