The no-fee Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card has partnered with Lyft, and new cardholders can earn double miles on Lyft rides.
For a limited time, those who sign up for the Blue Delta SkyMiles card at Delta.com/LyftAmex will earn 2X miles per dollar spent on Lyft rides as well as a $50 statement credit toward Lyft rides. Both the credit and the double points apply to rides taken in the first six months of being a card member. The offer expires Oct. 18.
Double miles are limited to the first 16 Lyft rides per day during the promotional period. The offer is valid on the U.S. transactions only, but the card charges a 2.7 percent foreign transaction fee, so it might not be best to use it abroad anyway.
Dining at U.S. restaurants and Delta Air Lines purchases will remain bonus categories on the card and will not go away after the first six months. The card also charges no annual fees and comes with 10,000 bonus SkyMiles after spending $500 in the first three months.
Unfortunately, 2X miles on Lyft rides doesn’t seem to be available to existing Delta Blue cardholders.
If you’re a frequent Lyft user, this offer may seem enticing to you. Keep in mind that earning on Lyft rides goes down to 1X mile per dollar after the first six months. Additionally, those who currently hold or have held another co-branded Delta card from Amex in the past 90 days are not eligible to earn the bonus on the Blue Delta SkyMiles card.
A casual Delta flyer will benefit from this promo, but if you’re a serious miles collector, this limited-time offer might not yield the most miles for your travel plans.
Will you sign up for the Blue Delta SkyMiles Card with the new Lyft bonus?
