4 Rewards Hotels I am Angling to Stay in This Year

Every time a new year rolls around, I get excited about what our travel plans could be. For 2018, we have a pretty fun year of travel planned so far. At the moment, we have trips booked to Los Cabos, Anguilla, Jamaica (to finally stay at the Hyatt Ziva!), Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Turks and Caicos.

On top of these trips, I am pretty sure we’ll do at least one more Europe trip. We’re also going to Florida with my family, and we will likely book a cruise on the MSC Divina over Christmas.

In addition to these trips, I am always angling to plan more. We have nothing planned so far in August or September, for example. To me, that’s unacceptable.

Here are a few of the hotels I’m angling to stay at this year:

Hilton Barbados

We went through this hotel earlier this year and I’m in love. The Hilton Barbados has a huge expanse of beach with powder soft sand, water perfect for swimming, big pools, and tons of room. The property also has big rooms (all with ocean views) and a club lounge for elite guests. Best of all, rooms start at just $200 or 50,000 Hilton Honors points per night – and that’s for a family of four.

Holiday Inn Aruba

We spent a day here with our kids during our cruise stop in early January. I am now obsessed with this hotel. The Holiday Inn Aruba has the best stretch of beach on Palm Beach, and that says a lot. Rooms are what you would expect for a three-star hotel, but I give the beach and water ten stars. The food was also affordable (we ate lunch there). It helps that kids under 12 eat free with paid adults. This resort will set you back 40,000 points per night now, but it’s reasonable at just $188 per night if you pay in cash.

The Kimpton Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman is finally bookable with points on IHG.com. Yay! Unfortunately, it’s 70,000 points per night. I think this will be a good one for the free nights you get with the IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card. Either way, I love Seven Mile Beach and would love to stay at this hotel.

Hilton Sorrento Palace

I have a few days to book something before we head to the villa I rented on the Amalfi Coast this summer. I have been pondering the idea of using Hilton points to book the Hilton Sorrento Palace. It looks amazing, and I’ve never actually stayed in Sorrento before (we’ve only passed through). Plus, a regular room starts at around 60,000 Hilton Honors points per night, which is fairly reasonable considering what Hilton points are worth.

The Bottom Line

It should be a fun year of travel, and that’s true whether we get to go to any of these hotels or not. Either way, I am always scheming to add one more trip or at least stay in a cool hotel each month of the year. Points and miles make travel dreams come true every day, and they can make yours come true, too.

Have you been to any of these hotels? Did you like them or not?
