While it may seem that some so-called business cash-back credit cards serve the needs of business owners superficially at best, there are cards out there that really understand the specific needs and demands of running a company. These cards respond by giving business owners not only by making travel cheaper, but by giving them cash back in categories they can really use. One of the most useful cash-back categories is the mainstay of many businesses: advertising. Here are two of our favorite credit cards that specifically give cash back on advertising costs.
Chase’s newest credit card is getting a lot of positive buzz, not least of all for its incredible bonus sign-up offer of 80 000 points after you spend $5000 in your first three months as a cardholder.
The card will earn you 3 points for every $1 you spend on travel, shipping, Internet, cable and phone services. You also get 3 points per dollar spent on advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines. Merchants in the social media and search engine category include websites like Facebook and Twitter and some online search engines like Google AdWords and more. This 3x category does not cap out until you reach a hefty$150,000 in combined purchases. You get 1 point per $1 spent on any other purchases.
The APR varies from 16.24% to 21.24%, based on creditworthiness. There is no foreign transaction fee and you can get employee cards at no additional cost. The card has an annual fee of $95.

SimplyCash Plus Business Credit Card OPEN by American Express
This card is a boon for businesses and until January 25 2017, new cardholders will get up to $500 cash back. You receive a $250 statement credit after spending $5,000 within the first six months. You can earn an additional $250 statement credit after making an additional $10,000 or more in purchases within your first year of card membership.
You earn 5% cash back for every $1 spent at U.S. office supply stores and on wireless telephone services (which must be purchased directly from U.S. service providers). You’ll receive 3% cash back from one category that you get to choose from eight possible choices. The eight categories include common business expenses like airfare, shipping, computing purchases and advertising on select media. The 5% and 3% categories apply to the first 50 000 you spend per year. You get 1% on everything else.
There is also an attractive 0% introductory APR on purchases for the first nine months. Afterwards the APR is a variable rate of 12.49%, 17.49% or 19.49%, based on creditworthiness. There is no annual fee but there is a foreign transaction fee of 2.7%.
For many businesses, advertising can eat up a significant portion of your revenues. It’s a lot easier to spend that money when you know your credit card is going to pick up some of the tab by giving you cash back.
