Earn $15 with Chase Freedom Cards by Using Android Pay at Grocery Stores

AdSense

Chase is targeting select Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited cardholders with an unusual cash-back promotion.

Enroll either of the credit cards in Android Pay, use it five times at grocery stores between May 15 and June 15 and receive a $15 statement credit on your account. The promo is limited to the first 24,000 card members who complete the transactions. Because there isn’t an option to track how many people have qualified for the credit, I suggest acting quickly if you want to take advantage of the offer.

After enrolling in the promo and fulfilling the terms, the credit will apply automatically within eight weeks of making five transactions at grocery stores that accept Android Pay, such as Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. The offer is limited to one statement per customer.

The promo couldn’t come at a better time. Chase Freedom is offering 5 percent cash back on eligible grocery store purchases made between April 1 and June 30 (limited to $1,500). It’s possible to stack the offers. There are no minimum transaction requirements.

A similar offer is available for the Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit cardholders. Members can receive a $25 statement credit for making five purchases of products or services and paying via Apple Pay between May 15 and June 15.

It seems that more and more credit card issuers try to promote NFC (near-field communication) payment options. Last month, American Express was offering $5 statement credits for using Android Pay through Amex Offers. Additionally, the new Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite Card from U.S. Bank is offering 3X points per dollar spent on all mobile wallet transactions, including Android Pay, Apple Pay, Microsoft Wallet and Samsung Pay.

Do you use mobile wallet payment options? If not, will you give Android Pay a try just to take advantage of the Chase offer?
