Daily Getaways Are Back! Here Are the Best Deals for Week One.

It’s the Daily Getaways time of year!

This year’s Daily Getaways will return on April 10 and will offer six weeks of sometimes great travel package that you can purchase.

I’ll be covering each week of Daily Getaways ahead of time so you can think about what you might want to purchase and know when to be ready.

I’ll tell you first, the package that is most exciting to me for next week is IHG’s on Wednesday. I will probably be buying either 100,000 or 130,000 IHG points – but my circumstances are such that this likely makes more sense for me than it does for you! Since I travel nearly full time, I use a lot of hotel points and am often able to make use of IHG’s PointBreaks for only 5,000 points per night.

I just blew a lot of IHG points on a Holiday Inn in downtown Munich for Oktoberfest this year, and I am looking to quickly replenish my IHG points so I can continue to stay at IHG hotels on points when I need to.

If you don’t need to quickly replenish points or don’t go through very many points, you can always buy IHG points for around 0.7 cents each through this trick. If I buy the 130K package, the points will cost me 0.58 cents each.

In terms of the other offers, nothing is overly exciting to me in Week 1.

I purchased the Alamo certificate two years ago and still haven’t used it.

I’m not a big fan of Las Vegas and can usually do it more cheaply than Tuesday’s packages when I do go. Nevertheless, if you are a big Vegas fan these might be worth considering since there are a lot of fun things included like dinner and show tickets.

The Busch Gardens and Sea World tickets are great value if you have a trip coming up!

Finally, the Wyndham package gives you 15,000 Wyndham points which is enough for one night at any of their properties. There are definitely some good ones, but since you can only buy enough for one night I don’t find it to be overly interesting.

Check back next week to get my thoughts on Week 2!
